Knowledge that flows from the mouth of a guru alone bears fruit. Others, that are weak and tiresome, prove fruitless. After finding a yoga-qualified guru and obtaining yoga instructions from him, one should practice according to the directions given by the guru, diligently and with faith.
There are several reasons why people want to do a Teacher Training Course among which improving or deepening their practice is the most common one. So whether you want to further your practice and knowledge to teach better, help others or learn and take it as a career, this course provides an opportunity to deepen your practice, become more mindful and gain a better understanding of Ashtanga Yoga or Hatha Yoga. Also, study the theoretical, physical and spiritual components of Ashtanga Yoga or Hatha Yoga in a disciplined & encouraging environment.
The principle underlying in our Teacher Training Course is that, first, the perfection of the body helps in the perfection of the mind, and then, when mental efficiency has been gained, the same is used to attain the higher spiritual perfection. This course stresses the need for graded, regular and diligent practice. Indeed, Abhyasa (Practice) is the keynote of the entire science of yoga. It is through assiduous practice that the seemingly impossible Yoga Postures (Asanas), Pranayama & Meditation techniques are mastered and performed with ease within a reasonable period of time.

It was confusing to select a good, traditional Ashtanga school as there are so many new ones in Mysore, India. But I was glad to get trained under Guruji Venkat who brought the best out of me and I'd like to do an advanced course with him soon. The Philosophy class was absolutely wonderful. It's a complete Training program where students are also taught soft skills to improve there teaching.

I have progressed a lot in my yoga practise during this week, thanks to personalised classes with Edna. It was also very nice to have a room for yourself, a kitchen, and hot water, after being on the road for a while. When you are doing just a week here the theory classes are not something you have to do, but you are welcome to join. The food you get two times a day are very tasty and its nice to try homemade indian food. The area we live in is nice and quiet. The city tour was well organised and we saw a lot of beautiful things.

To begin with, we really liked our course at Ashtanga Yoga Mysore. The energy we got in the class and the way we were motivated was commendable. The Ashtanga Vinyasa Classes made us enjoy and apperciate the practice more than we expected. The classes were dynamic and the teacher always made sure that we work within our limits and not injure ourselves. The way you emphasised on concentrating on the core, bandhas and ujjai breathing made the poses we got into more effective and easier. Last but not the least your sense of humor was wonderful. Overall, it was an amazing and worthy experience to learn the practice at Ashtanga Yoga Mysore. "Life is a journey not a destination." Hope our paths cross again in life.

The asanas teacher was amazing and created a good atmosphere in the class. He answered all my questions, his corrections were great and in adjustment class we learned a lot. Thank you. Hope to get a one on one with you next time.

I really enjoyed my time here on the course and feel I have learnt and achieved a lot in the four weeks. The course excels in Philosophy and Anatomy in both content and teachers, very enjoyable, inspiring and informative. I feel I have been very well looked after by Sunil.

My conclusions about the course, in general are possitive. I have realized about the big tree of yoga and all the knowledge in this ancestral wisdom. A lot of aspects of this knowledge has come to me by the teachers. Many doors are open now to me and I understand how the yoga must be. Also I understand energies like maya for ex., and how to fight against these things which are always around us. I got my goals which makes me very happy.
I think the shala is comfortable, clean and closer to the sky. This is my general view. I think the program is very good and very happy with the softskiils session it was great!.

Overall the course was good and I am quite benifited with it, especially with Ashtanga practice. Yoga Philosophy with Prabhu and Anatomy with Dr. Sham were equally good.
